High School Assessment
Government Assessment

 Introduction

MSDE has created a new Government HSA public release form that reflects changes to the test form that will be implemented beginning with the January 2014 HSA administration. Brief constructed response items will again be included in the test along with the selected response items. The extended constructed response items will no longer be used. Constructed response items will be scored with the same rubric used in the past. This 2013 public release form uses former publicly released items from 2007, 2008, and 2009.

The items included on these Public Release Forms measure students' knowledge of skills, processes, and concepts as stated in the Government Core Learning Goal indicators.

For each item you can see which indicator the item measured, view field test data, take mini-assessments online, and print the form. For items administered prior to May 2009, you can view the rubric, listen to an explanation of the rubric and anchor papers used to score the constructed responses, and practice scoring actual student responses.
