The Maryland School Assessment (MSA) was developed by Maryland to comply with the requirements of NCLB. MSA results include the performance of students on both the MSA and the Mod-MSA tests. MSA assesses the state content standards in reading, mathematics and science.

The MSA data results include students in grades 3 through 8 who took either MSA or Mod-MSA. Beginning in the 2012-2013 school year the Mod-MSA was discontinued and those students are taking the MSA. Understanding how your students performed on MSA will help you identify which state content standards your school or district has met and on which standards you need to improve. In addition to accessing graphs of each school and district's performance on MSA, you will find some tips in how to lead the data analysis discussion, some suggestions for next steps, and links to additional information about MSA. We have provided printed versions of your school or district's key graphs for use in printed communications or offline discussions. However, analyzing the data offline does preclude accessing the animated audio tutorials and the information linked online.
