| Overview: This task can be used at any time in the school year and serve
as a basis for ongoing analysis of individuals and their historical
contributions. Students work in groups to draft a list of the
top ten most influential people in world history. This list is
then compared to a published list: The 100: A Ranking of
the Most Influential Persons in History, by Michael Hart.
Reasons for selecting people are examined. Students then research
a person who could be added to or removed from the published
list and present the information from their research and their
reasoning in a letter or speech.
