Question

Whenever students are participating in sorting experiences, the following questions will present opportunities for students to think more deeply about the sorting concept:

  • How can we describe how these objects were sorted?
  • Where would this blue triangle go? How do you know?
  • Can you think of another way to sort the shapes?
  • How are these two shapes the same/different? How can you tell?
  • Could this shape be a part of your group? Why/Why not?
  • Is there any other shape that we do not have in our set that could be included?
